This virtual session is designed to share any recent CrossCheck updates. We will share and discuss best practices in a collaborative fashion.  Discussion will be focused around EMIS formatted data files, as the CrossCheck system is based on Data Collector data and not source data systems. We will gather any suggestions for additional data dashboards, data checks, and/or data outputs. We look forward to a professional and engaging learning session!

We appreciate posting of EMIS related questions and/or topics for the monthly EMIS work session on the collaborative shared document.

EMIS Alliance - Tools for Troubleshooting Data Associated with the Report Card Measures

The Department of Education and Workforce is leveraging the EMIS Alliance Grant and ITC participation to assist EMIS coordinators and other key district and school personnel to improve the ability of educators to better explore, understand, and communicate with school data in a meaningful way. The Tools for Troubleshooting Data Associated with Report Card Measures workshop is different than other EMIS offerings because the intended audience is for district teams, including the EMIS coordinator along with other district and building level administrators who play a role in assuring accurate report card data.   This in-person-only EMIS Alliance workshop will include real data troubleshooting opportunities reflecting some of the reporting issues experienced with the Report Card. It will address the various reports available in the Secure Data Center to assist districts and schools in reviewing their data and decision-making.  It will also address the importance of assigned data owners for the various data sets that impact Report Card measures as well as building strong data teams that actively engage in ensuring accurate data is reported.   We are pleased to offer Tools for Troubleshooting Data Associated with Report Card Measures for your district team on the dates and times noted below. It is intended for at least two district/school administrative staff and the EMIS coordinator to work together with the goal of understanding how the reported data impacts the Report Card. Concepts covered in this course will include:  
  • Assessments: Acceleration Bump, OELPA and ALT OELPA – calculating improvement, and Third Grade ELA
  • Early Literacy: Reading Diagnostics and Improving at Risk K-3 Readers, and Promotion to 4th Grade
  • CCWMR: Adding Traditional District Work Based Learning
